NEWSLETTER VOLUNTEER
Collate, fold and tape pages of newsletter, label and
sort by zip codes for mailing.
Time:
3-4 hours, one a
month
ADULT DAY CARE ASSISTANT
Assist Adult Day Care supervisor with recreational activities
such as playing bingo, checkers, or any games appropriate for
those using the facility.
May also teach crafts, quilting, etc. Includes all
types of
appropriate forms of entertainment. Training provided in
how to
entertain patients, how to discern their skill levels, and
what
signs to look for in specific people.
Time:
4 Hours per day
ASSIST IN MEDICAL TRANSPORTS
Drive VA Van to transport
U.S. Veterans to VA
Hospital and return. Must have good driving skills.
Must receive driver's certification from Veteran's
Administration.
Time:
Usually 8 hours per day
FUN NIGHT VOLUNTEER
Help with preparation of
food (usually just heat and serve),
clean up after serving, assist with Bingo.
Time: 2
Hours once a week
RECEPTIONIST
Direct phone calls at
front desk.
Time:
1-2 hours per week.
Training is approximately 4 weeks
VAN DRIVER OR MEDICAL ESCORT
DRIVER
Drive Senior Center
van/car for shopping trip, grocery trip or
medical escort. Assist passengers on or off van,
assist with packages.

FUND RAISING VOLUNTEER
Collect money at various fund raising events, help set up
and clean up for a fund raising event.
Time: Varies
BLOOD PRESSURE VOLUNTEER
Assemble blood pressure
records, record blood pressure
on clients card, clean up blood pressure area. Assist RN's
or
Nurses Aide.
Time:
2 hour per week
DECORATION VOLUNTEER
Help to decorate and
un-decorate the office for the holidays.
Time:
2-3 hours 2-3 time/year
ARTS/CRAFTS VOLUNTEER
Donate crafts for fund
raisers, make crafts at the Senior Center
for fund raising or nursing homes, teach craft classes,
such
as crocheting, knitting, etc.
Time:
4 Hours/day once a week |
